Join Our Advisory Committee
This charity won't organize itself... and one person can't possibly
think of everything. Even if one person could, should
they? Additionally, there are plenty of great ideas, but we still
need creative ways to implement those ideas -- you know... so they
actually work!
We're looking for people from all walks of life that have a deep
concern about our community's homeless. We're looking for people
who are concerned enough to spend a little of their valuable time trying
to effect change for familiar strangers. It's easy to say you
care. But do you care enough to do something, to work with others
to make something happen? If you do, please join us.
Will we take 'just anybody'? No. We don't want people
involved who think what we're trying to accomplish is fruitless.
We don't want people involved who think the homeless are 'just a bunch
of worthless drug addicts' who don't deserve help. We don't want
people who won't bring positive energy to the work.
Have you ever spent more than five minutes wondering what you could
possibly do to make things better for the people who live out-of-doors?
Have you ever been scraping left over food you knew wouldn't get eaten
and thinking you could make a really nice plate for someone who was
hungry if only you knew where you could take it? Have you ever
thought you could 'make a little extra' a couple of times a week if you
knew someone would appreciate it? Have you ever fallen asleep at
night wondering where they go, if they can see the stars from where
they're laying, if they're warm or safe or dry?
If you said yes to anything in the above paragraph or have ever
thought anything similar, we'd love for you to contribute to the
knowledge base and idea pot to help us really do something
to make life better for these people. |
